I am not a Greek or an Athenian, but a citizen of the world – Socrates

The entrepreneurs of old were explorers. Christopher Columbus, Ferdinand Magallean, Lewis & Clark. These men sold a vision, raised capital and sailed into the unknown. While most of our world has already been discovered, that doesn’t preclude personal discovery. I was hooked on the world from the first time I stepped foot outside the United States, crossing the Texan border into Reynosa, Mexico. Twenty years later, I’ve had the privilege to travel to 52 countries, working in 31 and living in five.

I am amazed by the beauty and diversity of this world. Some of my favorite memories during my global adventures include:

  • Swimming in the mouth of a dormant volcano on the Isla de Ometepe – Nicaragua
  • Watching the sunset over the Tonlé Sap lake, the largest fresh water lake in South East Asia – Cambodia
  • Camping in the Sahara Desert outside of Douz – Tunisia
  • Living minutes away from the famous Çırağan Palace in Istanbul – Turkey
  • Freezing in the middle of summer in Eisriesenwelt, the largest ice cave in the world – Austria
  • Following in the footsteps of Indiana Jones at Petra – Jordan
  • Diving through a canyon of coral in Roatán – Honduras
